Who am I?
Hi, I’m Kim—opinionated bookish girlie, Swiftie extraordinaire and labradoodle mom. Reading and writing have always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I won my first writing competition in third grade with a piece detailing my experience on 9/11, wrote Jonas Brother fan fiction (embarrassing!) in high school for an audience of hundreds of readers, and minored in Creative Writing in college as an outlet to my Biochemistry major. My childhood and teenage years were filled with trips to Barnes & Noble, midnight releases for Harry Potter, Twilight, and The Hunger Games, and convincing my friends to pick up my latest bookish obsession. It would seem that not much has changed.
Like many, life pulled me away from the literary world for a while, but during the pandemic, I rediscovered my love for books—this time through the indie author community. I was immediately enamored with the grit and dedication it takes to write, publish, and market your own work. It takes something special to believe in yourself the way indie authors do, and I’ve found nothing more fulfilling than celebrating their successes with them.
A year ago, I was asked to alpha read for the first time, and I knew I had found my passion. There’s nothing better than highlighting a killer line that’s perfect for promo, helping an author shape their work to match their vision, or working through tough spots to find the right words. Whether it’s romance, fantasy, or anything in between, I love helping authors refine their stories while keeping their unique voice intact.

Who am I?
Hi! I'm Whitney. I’m a mom, a fiance, and an avid reader. My love for reading began in elementary school with The Bailey Schoolhouse Kids and Goosebumps, where I spent every book fair collecting piles of stories. Trading my hard-earned tokens for new books fostered my love for reading and that love has only grown over the years.
My tastes have definitely evolved since then. While I read just about anything, I have a deep love for dark romance, with an appreciation for long, detailed trigger warning lists. I firmly believe the longer, the better. When I’m not lost in a book, I’m a huge fan of double butter popcorn and classic 90’s slasher films.
Starting Twisted Chaos is a dream. Though I’ve always wanted to work in the book world, it wasn’t until I became a PA a year ago that I realized just how much I wanted to dive in deeper. Creating unique and engaging social media content is beyond rewarding and I look forward to coming up with fresh and creative ideas for indie authors every day. They say it's not work when you're having fun, right?

Who am I?
Hi! I'm Jasmaine (pronounced like the Disney Princess). Some of you may also know me as J. Laine, the author who makes readers sob but somehow puts their hearts back together by the end.
In my everyday life, I am a mom, wife, covered in labrador hair dog mama, and dragon tamer (aka Beardie Mama). I am a dark romance enthusiast, a die-hard Swiftie, and a Sleep Token loving introvert. If you find me without a Dr. Pepper, my laptop, or my Kindle in hand, run the other way.
My love for reading has been cyclical. I first fell in love with books when I discovered the Campus Confidential Series and the world of Wattpad in middle school. My love for reading tapered off for a while, but was reignited when I stumbled upon the After series on Netflix. It sounded familiar, and I quickly realized I had read it on Wattpad years earlier. Immediately, I bought the series and fell down the rabbit hole with no end in sight.
Reading became my escape from my mental health struggles, and before long, I discovered my passion for writing. It has changed my life in more ways than one, and I am forever grateful for the community and friendships I have found through the commonality of loving books.
I wanted to start Twisted Chaos because while this author/reader life is incredible, it has come with lasting impressions, some greater than the others. I want to create a safe, trusting, and knowledgeable place for readers and authors to come together in the best harmony possible. And to be able to do it with two people who have shown me nothing but respect and love from the beginning is the best honor.
